DR ALEXEY V.PAVLOVSKY

Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Commonwealth of Australia

Appointed as Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Commonwealth of Australia by the Executive Order of the President of the Russian Federation № 145 dated April 3, 2019.

Born in 1962.

1985 – graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR.

1988 – received a doctorate degree in history (Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR).

Speaks English, Persian and French.

Has a diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, given in June 2017.

On the diplomatic service since 1988. Held different positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diplomatic missions, including:

2001-2003 – Office Director in the First CIS Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation;

2003-2006 – Senior Counsellor, Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Portugal;

2006-2011 – Deputy Director of the Fourth CIS Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation;

2011-2019 – Director of the Fourth CIS Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
